I agree that if you can't handle change then it's the wrong show for you but it's also kind of a weird show in that regard, the writers do want you to be attached enough to the Doctor and the companions that you'll tune in but you also have to be ready to see them leave.

It can sting when a particular Doctor or companion really clicked with you, but there can also be times where you're a lot more ready to move on. I think I'm already liking 12 better then 11 for instance, not that I actively dislike Matt but he was part of some of my least favorite DW episodes ever and 12 is just a little bit more my style.
