I'm wondering what the precedent is for freezing non-wanky threads upon request. That's not really fair for any of the participants. I think if you start a thread in GC, you should be willing to accept that it might become a site of conversation for people who are not OP.

I gotta say that I agree with you. I understand wanting to be accommodating to the people who come here and make sure that they're comfortable, but I don't like the idea that a conversation can be shut down just because the person who started the thread has lost interest.
