I have to agree though. Even if it's not the OP's case, tumblr and AO3 teaches me that fandoms pretty mediocre male characters and they will write any kind of fanfiction about them. But once they have a female character that is interesting and not so bad like others are, they hold her to higher and unreasonable standards (if girl is a secondary character she probably won't be written as the protagonist) and try so hard to prove that she sucks all the while still worshiping interchangeable white hot guys that really don't have that best of character development, or the most original.
