Sadly, even Paine falls into a stereotype (I was so disappointed when she turned out to be "damaged" - I wanted her to be snarky and bitchy and cool just because that was her personality), but I see what you're saying. I still love a lot of the FF main girls (Faris, Celes, Aerith, Tifa, Yuffie, Yuna...) but there are a number of tropes that kind of repeat with them. It's unfortunate. :/
31. Phoenix is a fantastic name! Heck, and if this future kid turns out to be a geek, he might even think the origin is cool. XD
