Because Doomsday wasn't fucking annoying enough (this isn't the Rose show!), and the Doctor didn't spent this entire last season whining about Rose and treating Martha like shit.

I'LL REITERATE FOR YOUR TIMID HEART. It'll all go back to normal, if it bothers you so much don't watch it. There's like a season left of it with RTD anyway.

And even if you don't like the Doctor and Rose, it would be pretty difficult to say that Doomsday was a terrible episode. Also, it was Billie Piper's last episode, so, yea it was kind of Rose's episode. She was leaving the show. If it was Martha's last episode, they would have made a big stink about her as well.

If the Rose fen don't disappear after her final, final, episode, I'll start crackin' skulls too.

I agree with about 95% of this, although I'll point out that Martha's last episode hardly focused on her at all. :\ Maybe because it was Martha AND Jack leaving at once, but her quiet decision to leave is a stark contrast to two episodes building up to it...

Of course, it's not a fair comparison, seeing as how Martha chose to leave, where Rose was ripped away from him, but.

Well, it was Martha's last episode as perm. companion, but it wasn't like she was never coming back. I don't know about you, but I knew when I was watching it that she was going to be on Torchwood, and Doctor Who in the new season. Also, we're talking about Last of the Timelords right? Because I thought the fact that she was actually the hero of the entire storyline was pretty awesome, even though we got floaty christ-like Doctor at the end.

I had forgotten about that, although isn't the same now true of Rose, too, since we know she's coming back in Season 4?

This is true, but I really don't think the two are comparable. We don't get any dramatic (and somewhat untrue, what with the claims of dying) narration about her last mission, she doesn't state -- as Rose does -- that this is "her story," and in the end it's all about the Doctor, and Martha says as much... yes, people are viewing her as a hero, she says, but that's missing the point, all she is is the messenger to remind them of the real hero.

This isn't me complaining about Martha's role in the episode, I'm with you on it kicking ass -- this is just what I remember Martha saying herself, and the vibe being, especially with the "floaty christ-like" Doctor at the end. (I love that mental image, thank you. XD)

It doesn't feel like anything near as big a deal was made out of it. *sigh!* :(
