The commenter does have a point though. The series really is just about time/space travel, not pairing the Doctor up with someone. He loved all of his companions, that's all.

The Doctor Who revival was not ALL about the Doctor falling in love with Rose, but the creators have made a part of the show about it.

Why should fans be punished by being labelled little more than soppy Mary Sue-loving idiots for enjoying what the creators of the show put out there themselves?

Fandom really needs to learn to restrain itself sometimes. An opinion isn't fact, and if someone in an official capacity contradicts your opinion or strongly goes against it, doesn't mean the creators are a bunch of bumbling idiots who have ruined the show and it's entire history. Just means they made a change.

I really can't be arsed to comment on this anymore, and its 2am here in the UK!

I did not say that those who enjoy Rose/Doctor were, as you put it, "soppy Mary Sue-loving idiots". There are plenty of friends on my flist who adore that pairing and heck, my own father found the pairing to be interesting. It's easy for me to have a conversation with them because we respect each others opinions on the show on various topics. And personally? I don't touch these ship-wars with a thirty-nine and half foot pole because it's pointless. even if the creator will make something fact it doesn't mean every single fan is going to follow it.

All I'm trying to say is that yes there are fans in Whodom that need to learn some restraint. But because it's such a large and popular series, we are all going to have to live with the fact that we aren't going to agree on every little thing. so if someone enjoys Rose/Doctor, then that's fine by me. It doesn't effect my life in any way shape or form. People can even bash the pairing I like until the end of time. I won't give a damn.

So just because people will disagree something you enjoy a lot, there isn't any need to try and point out every little thing wrong with their argument, immature or not. And I would very much appreciate not having my throat jumped down too. I was only trying to make a calm, reasonable point. That was all.
