This is fic related, if anyone cares.

So, I know that some women can orgasm just from vaginal penetration (though perhaps not many?). Can guys come solely through being penetrated or does there pretty much have to be some penis love going on too?

Depends on prostate stimulation, or so I've heard.

I don't actually do this, but from what I have heard (friends, etc) this isn't all that common. The "hands free" orgasm is the holy grail to some, totally not worth it to others.

I personally don't have an opinion one way or another, I just happen to know the majority of guys in my circle can't or don't bother with it.

I'm sure it's possible, but I've never been able to and neither have my partners or friends (that I know of).

Thanks all. Sounds like I'll either have to rethink my guy or resign him to being a bit of a snowflake. Or assume that I'm not the only one who wouldn't know but that I'm the only one who would ask. Only works for female readers though. :/

If it's not outside the realm of possibility, who cares? Go for it anyway. It's not like fic sex is realistic to begin with.

Sex in fics is often unrealistic, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Guys coming from just being penetrated happens all the time in fic. No one's going to call you in particular out for being unrealistic about that.
