Sasuke turned again, to the surprise of no one. Frustration, maybe. This inevitable fight is simply pointless now. If it had happened a few volumes ago, sure, but not now. Especially now that the outcome is already spoiled-Naruto and Sasuke need to combine their seals to break the IT. Which means Sasuke will need to live/change his mind. The movie sketches have Sakura and co still alive, so...yeah.

Fucking douchebag. What the hell Kishimoto? Just burn it to the ground. Can't wait til this shitty manga ends.

I was honestly surprised he went that route, since it was so hamfisted. He had Sasuke sulking the last two chapters, and it does come off as jarring.

I wish I could say I was surprised, but I'm not. The big Sasuke/Naruto fight is something that has been promised for years and with how shitty Kishimoto has been writing Sasuke, I expected it.

Even with how bad Naruto has become, I'm still kinda looking forward to what Kishimoto will do next. If only for the characters, because he is decent at creating characters but he kinda sucks with how he develops them.

I suppose I'm just tired with the story. Sasuke will change his mind, since the movie sketches already showed the other characters in the IT get released. So, it's just going to be boring if he drags it out. I always knew they'd fight again, it just feels like it should have happened earlier.

I doubt he will drag it out too much. I'm surprised he didn't drag out the fight with Kaguya tbh. It was pretty short as far as fighting arcs go.

It definitely should have happened. I'm not sure when though. Maybe after all that shit with Danzo.

Well, the movie is canon and takes place two years after the end of the manga. That means the manga ends in less than ten chapters. I don't know how this is going to play out, with so little time left.

Ugh, what if the movie is about the showdown? Like Sasuke is now a missing nin and the movie is about Naruto finding him and their epic showdown. And Sasuke is won over with the power of friendship? All of my nope.

Maybe...Naruto and Sasuke still have to hold hands (lol) to unlock IT. Naruto DOES have a bandage on his seal hand, so I have no idea what might happen to cause that...

I don't understand Sasuke's character. He's conflicted to a point where he doesn't have consistency. He tells Sakura and Kakashi he's going to make a better world for them, one without darkness...and only a few days ago, manga time, he wanted nothing more than destruction. He doesn't seem to really know WHAT he wants. First he's catching Sakura and telling Sakura and Kakashi to go with him to safer ground, the next minute he's telling Naruto he's going to kill him.

I don't think Kishimoto knows or understands what the fuck to do with Sasuke's character. He's wrote himself in a corner. He knows he has to deliver on that big fight that's been promised since part one but along the way he has messed up Sasuke's motivations and written him so badly that he has no idea how to make that fight happen.

I said this back in 2012: "With Sasuke, it's almost like Kishimoto keeps using him to develop other characters, so his behavior changes according to what those characters need. With Naruto, he's a heartless murderer, because Naruto needs someone to save. With Itachi, he's a loyal kid brother, because Itachi needs to be redeemed. It's weird."

Sasuke has only existed as a plot device for a long time now. Right now, he's Naruto's foil so Naruto can do what he promised he would years ago, save Sasuke from himself and bring him home. It doesn't matter that Sasuke should have enough brain cells to rub together by now to know better than this, it has to happen for the sake of Naruto's character arc, and fuck any consistency in Sasuke's arc.

2012 was probably around the time I finally gave up being invested in this series. I'd given up Sasuke's character a little while before that, likely due to the reason you stated.

lol, I've been looking forward to your Naruto thread since this afternoon after I read that dumbass chapter. I like how Kakashi and Sakura had expressions that were a cross between surprise and and "godammit Sasuke, not this shit again" while Naruto face was like "Yeah, I pretty saw this coming idec".

Why? What's the point of this bullshit? Kishimoto is just really dragging Sasuke further and further past the point of redeemability. I'll be so pissed if Sakura still gets with him (but not surprised)

SS is pretty much dead in the water right now. There's no way Sakura will choose Sasuke now that he declared that he's going to kill Naruto. My guess is Sakura will finally choose Naruto over Sasuke, and maybe make some small contribution to the fight.

I'd like her to have a bigger role, but I doubt it. During the Kaguya fight all she did was punch her in the head and save Sasuke. I don't think Kishi knows what to do with her sometimes, lol
