Hahaha, Dorian so doesn't have magic. (Or facial hair, for that matter).

I mean, if we wanted to headcanon Dorian as trans, we could do that, but it'd open a lot of knotty plot points to deal with. At worst, Dorian as a trans man (and handled badly) could invalidate the homosexual themes of the novel and edge towards the gender variant = evil side of things. At best, a thorough and conscientious reworking could not only result in an interesting portrayal of a trans man, but also more importance and significance given to Basil's [incontrovertibly gay] relationship with Dorian.

Sorry. My trans headcanon button got pushed and the words just happened :)

(we are talking about Dorian Gray, right? I don't really know of any other Dorians)

EDIT: The other comments seem to be pretty sure that this is a different Dorian. But my rant stands.

I also started to analyse this Dorian :P .

It does make an interesting case with the portrait if he's viewed as trans and the whole decadent lifestyle. If he has been prompted to act like a "lady" before, let's say gained an ideal body thanks to supernatural painting and used it, got lost while doing it, so on. Also - there's Henry's daughter who's pretty progressive and adds another layer.
