One more thing that might be available to you, depending on where you live, is seasonal agricultural work. If there are pick-your-own orchards or pumpkin farms where you live, they may need extra people to man produce stands, load trucks, pick produce or work machinery like cider presses.

Depending on what farmers grow in your part of the world, there may also be seasonal labor in the spring and early summer. It used to be a rite of passage for kids in my home state to detassel corn and "walk" soybeans, and while GM crops have eliminated some of that, some corn is still detasseled and organic crops need to be tended and (if they're raised for seed) "rogued." Much of the time, the work is done by teens and the crew leader arranges the transportation, so it doesn't require you to have your own car. Detasseling, in particular, is nasty work by all accounts, but it does pay.

Oh

Well that sounds like something I can do.

I'll look into that, and see if I can find anything like that. A place that provides transportation is also nice.

Thank you very much.

Thinking about this after I posted it: I wonder if your folks will allow it. IIRC, they wanted you to find a job, but they seemed to be pretty picky about what sort of job. So some of these may not work for you, but good luck.

Thanks

I still appreciate the advice and the thought behind it. I'm glad they're trying to help.

I hope things work out with your BF and you can get your own place within some realistic timeframe. Given what you've posted about them before, I'm thinking you might even find that your folks have a few admirable qualities...when you're admiring them from a safe distance.

Thank you :3

I really just would love to live somewhere where my shortcomings are acknowledged and understood and not just grudgingly put up with. I get told "I shouldn't have to tell you this" a lot, and "it's not all about you" pretty often when I come to them for requests are when they're busy.

But at the same time when they're great they are REALLY great and wonderful and I know they really do love me a lot.
