A lot of people ignoring the unstable shit with Helena to make her a ~*sleepy murder baby angel*~ drives me nuts. Not sure if the show's to blame or just fandom in general cutesfying all dark characters.

YES. "Sleepy murder baby angel" sounds about right. I blame the show for that, though, because if they actually treated Helena like the psycho she is and didn't enable scenes like "lol brother seestra" or "let's leave her alone with Art cause THAT'S wise but lol she likes to eat isn't that cute," fans would probably still woobify her, but there'd be a definite feel of strict "fanon-ness" about it.

When shows treat any characters who are unstable and killers as cute without addressing how fucked up they probably are, it throws off my suspension of disbelief tbh.
