I've come to mildly resent Silent Hill fusions, because everyone tags them with the Silent Hill fandom, and then it makes it so much harder for me to find fic actually featuring the Silent Hill characters.

(Also, I don't feel like most of the fusions really capture the spirit of the town itself - it sounds silly to say 'They're writing this inanimate object OOC!', but...)

I guess it depends on whether you are of the "An eye for an eye" way of thinking, or of the "Don't descend to their level" mode. Spoiler:Of course, if Henrik did "learn" anything from his forced insemination -- such as what it feels like to be helpless while someone does things to your body without your consent -- the lesson didn't last long before he DIAF. Personally, I think the scene shown in my icon is more awesome: instead of being a vindictive angel of death, Helena is starting to form bonds to others.

ETA: I do wish they'd shown her and Gracie saving the kids from the fire; I read that they filmed that scene but had to cut it for time. I think that small act would have been a strong character moment for both of them.

"What Dreams May Come" is especially haunting because of what it says about people who commit suicide -- that they are trapped in hell not because they're being punished by some cruel God, but because the state of their soul after death inevitably reflects the private mental hell of depression/suicidality. I mean, not like I totally believe that or anything, but still....

(Has anyone else actually even seen What Dreams May Come?)
