Well. Former cop from Germany here. There's a reason why I don't deal well with police/crime/procedural shows or movies, and it's because I mostly experienced my fellow officers as either bumbling (sometimes well-meaning) idiots, racists, or neglectful, or corrupt. I was young and lacked the courage to say or do something, so I left. But it left a bitter taste, and it made me lose trust in people in general. So yeah, watching shows like you described, hits too close to home for me. :(

Wow. Fellow German here who considered for a very long time to join the police and right now I'm just really glad that I didn't (even though it was for physical reasons and not because I stopped wanting to, I was just sick for a while and wouldn't have passed the physical entry exams). :/
