Re: Characters/shows people probably wouldn't expect you to love given your usual tastes in fiction

90% of books I own are thrillers, I get easily bored when a story doesn't contain action and instead focuses on more subtle topics such as family conflicts or finding yourself. Plus I hate children in media because they're often portrayed as just little adults.

Yet one of my favorite books of all time is "The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet" by Reif Larsen, a whimsical story of a young boy traveling across the United States and learning a few life lessons along the way with barely any action at all.
