If you like snarky Tenten, definitely watch the SD series; her role is basically to point out everything ridiculous that is going on around her, and it is wonderful. Honestly, I think I like Naruto SD better than the main series most of the time; the war storyline as a whole has just not interested me. Too depressing, and too focused on Team 7 (or should I say, Naruto and Sasuke because clearly Kakashi and Sakura no longer have purpose :/ )
Are you caught up with the recent chapters?

I know what you mean; I keep meaning to make an account, but I would literally only use it for Fandom Secrets, so I keep putting it off.

I love snarky Tenten so damn much. She's totally shares the straight man role with Neji when it comes to dealing with Gai and Lee's antics. I'm so going to give Naruto SD a watch/read asap. :) You'd think since Team Gai is my fave team, I'd have read it by now. It being a gag manga kinda put me off it.

I've always prefered the side characters, particularly the rookie nine when came to Naruto so for the most part Naruto has been a disappointment to me ever since the end of part 1. The increasing focus on Uchihas didn't help. Poor Kakashi and Sakura, they might as well not even exist.

No, I'm not caught up. The last chaptersI read were with Gai facing Madara and a few of the fight with Kaguya. The war just didn't interest me all that much. It just dragged and seemed pointless.

Yeah, same. Thoght about actually using it as a journal but I don't have much to say.

Yay, I hope you like it! Team Gai is my favorite team too, so it's wonderful having a whole series where they are finally getting the screen time they deserve. Both the manga and anime get really zany (but in slightly different directions), but it has really good character development, I think, particularly in the manga.

I'm more interested in the side characters too. I like the Hyuuga clan and the Sand siblings most, probably because both families are really, really screwed up. I wish the other clans got more love too, especially the Aburame clan. I really want to know what Shino's family get-togethers would be like... I get kind of resentful that the Uchiha clan gets all the limelight, but oh well. I guess this is what fan fiction is for.

You're not missing too much in terms of catching up; I just wanted to make sure I didn't spoil you or anything.

Thank you for putting my fears to rest! I really wish there was a bit more serious spinoff featuring Team Gai and focusing on them, but this sounds good too. Did you hear about that Assume SD spinoff? Ugh, why?

The Hyuuga clam is pretty fascinating and I really wish that we had more insight into its history. Naruto has such a rich world and so many wonderful charav ters, but it fails to give any insight on a lot of them. Like, I'd kill to know about the team dynamics of Gai, Ebisu, and Genma. We've had a Kakashi Gaiden, how about something on the rest of the teams the adults were on as kids? I'd love to learn more about the Aburame clan and just how they came yo have such a symbiotic relationship with insects. Sure, there's always fanfiction, but it doesn't always cover on the mechanics of tthe worworld I'm interested in.

Don't worry about spoiling me. I don't mind it when it comes to Naruto.

Sasuke SD?! What?! Why??? They should have just stuck with the Rock Lee one...
I'm so over Sasuke. I was never a big fan of him, but his actions (especially the most recent ones) have made me really dislike him.

What you missed on Naruto: Naruto suddenly developed strange powers and Sasuke got Rinnegan. Naruto saved Gai's life and REGREW Kakashi's eyes. Obito died for real this time. Kaguya got sealed, everything looked like it was going to be a happy ending, but then Sasuke decided to be an ass and said he was gonna kill all the Kages.

I completely forgot that Gai, Ebisu, and Genma were on the same genin team. I wonder if their teacher was a woman, since there's no girl on their team. It also makes me wonder if Gai regularly hangs out with Ebisu or Genma when he's not training with Lee or challenging Kakashi to a crazy contest. Maybe they're drinking buddies...

I was never all that impressed with Sasuke to begin with. He was just a bland rival character but was tolerable before the timeskip. With how he's been developed since that fight at the valley, I've grown to dislike him. What an arrogant douchebag.

Obito finally died? About damn time. Did Kakashi get his eyes again or what? God damn it Sasuke, you're terrible. What the fuck did the other Kages do to you? I hope the Raikage kicks your ass. It won't happen, but I can dream.

I hope that their teacher was a woman. I dunno, it just has a certain appeal to it. I hope to god that they hang out together and drink Gai's totally the one who drags Ebisu and Genma's drunk asses home after a night of binge drinking. God, I want to learn more about their adventures as a team

The Rock Lee manga actually ended? I didn't know...I'm genuinely sad now. Aw...hopefully the last few chapters will get translated soon.
(And why Sasuke? Why not Team 10 SD? Or Team 8 SD? *grumbles*)

Kakashi's eye drama was...complicated. He got BOTH of Obito's eyes for a little bit, complete with Mangekyo Sharingan and a perfect Susano'o, but then they were normal again...I have to admit that half the time, I have no clue what's going on in the manga. My favorite character is Neji, so once he was gone, I basically was reading just for the sake of seeing it end (hopefully soon; it is time, Kishimoto).

I have no idea why Sasuke thinks killing the Kages will solve anything. He's completely nuts. If the Raikage can't beat him up, I hope Sakura does. She's taken enough of his crap already. If he actually becomes Hokage in the end, I hope the citizens of Fire Country will have the good sense to move very far away.

Speaking of the Raikage, I wonder how Killer Bee is doing. He's probably my favorite of the newer characters; his rap lyrics are just so bad!

I always wonder about what kinds of missions teams other than Team 7 take. Gai, Ebisu, and Genma would have been a genin team during one of the wars, right? They probably would have had really dangerous missions. I wonder what their teamwork was like; I bet Ebisu was the more scatter-brained one and Gai was the type to just charge in there without thinking twice.

Yeah, it ended a while ago. I thought that you'd already knew. :( I'm sorry. Unfortunately, I've no idea why. For some reason, Sasuke is pretty popular in Japan.

That makes no sense. What the he'll, Kishimoto? The eye swapping has always been utterly ridiculous but that's just absurd. Did he go back to his original eyes or what? My head hurts just trying to make sense of it. I've got no clue either. I checked out after the Pein arc when I realized my favorite characters were forever sidelined. Now I just check in just to see if itcis near the end yet. Please no part 3. It needs to be put out of its misery.

I mean the Kages who had anything to do with what happened to his clan are dead so why? Is he trying to start a new war and fuck everything over? God, I'd kill for Sakura to beat the shit out of him. I'm hoping that if he does become hokage, he gets assassinated soon after. Civilian uprising ftw. They've put up with enough Uchiha bullshit.

Killer Bee and the Raikage are two of my faves of the new characters. I wish we had more insight into their lives.

I can't remember. They were all kids during Madara's attack on Konoha, but I'm not sure about wars. I wonder how well they worked together. Who was the most levelheaded? Was it Genma? It sure as hell wasn't Gai. I wonder how they handled their first kills. I don't think Gai would have taken it lightly.

It's OK. I'm still really disappointed that it's being replaced by a Sasuke spin-off though...stupid Uchihas taking over all the good storylines. :/

Kakashi now has his own regular eyes back. I think he temporarily borrowed Obito's while Obito was halfway in ninja heaven (why he gets to go to Heaven after all the horrible things he did, I have no idea), but then when he was done, Obito took them back and went to the afterlife. It...makes about as much sense as Kaguya being an alien/being from another world and chakra coming from a magic tree.

I think Sasuke is trying to start over. As in, let's kill everyone in power and start from scratch. Clearly the kid has never read a history book because that always works out so well...not. He really should not have any position of authority at any time.
As sad as it would be to let the Sharingan and its powers be gone forever, I'm kind of hoping Sasuke will die the last Uchiha. Even if he does marry and try to revive his clan, I'm hoping they all somehow miss the Sharingan gene so the craziness curse of the Uchiha no longer plagues the land.
Hokage Sasuke being defeated by an uprising of the people sounds like an excellent fic idea. I'd read it. I bet the ramen guy would be the ringleader of it all.

I can't remember all the wars either. I know something was going on because that was how Obito "died" when Kakashi was a kid, but it might have just been a skirmish. I bet Genma was the most calm and collected, but at the same time, he seems laid-back to a fault, like he would under-react to things that really require a reaction.

Sorry if I'm not making much sense; it's late o'clock in my timezone, and I'm getting pretty tired. It's been super fun chatting with you though! :D

So basically he popped his eyes out and put them off to the side for a bit, then put Obito's eyes in for a bit? I just... what. Of course Obito went to ninja heaven. Of course he did. Ugh. Obito, you used to be kinda cool. For an Uchiha, anyway. What happened? I kinda liked Kaguya. Liked her more than Madara anyway.

Oh yeah, killing off the Kages of the other countries is totally a good idea. You totally won't have people plotting to kill your dumb ass after that. No sir, they'll just sit back and let you rule over them without a word to the contrary. Sasuke should'nt be anywhere near a position of power. Ever.

It would be sad to let such an ability die out, but like you said, the Uchiha are kind of a plague to the people. The world would be better off imo. If I could, I'd totally write it. Ramen shop guy would be the glorious leader of the revolution!

I do remember that there was instability between the countries but not so certain if it was a war. Genma being the cool head of the bunch would be great. I think that he was a bit of an idiot though, so his plans weren't always the best. He also couldn't always settle Gai and Ebisu down and was sometimes easily roped into their shenanigans.

Don't worry! If you need to rest then do so. :) I've really enjoyed chatting with you as well. Not often I get to talk about Naruto.
