(Anonymous) 2014-09-15 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)Though truthfully, there's no reason (all) aliens should be classified along the male/female spectrum at all, let alone m/f exclusively. Seems to me that if the earthly species' (flora, fauna, human) are more varied in gender, non-earth species should be as well, perhaps even more so (as they may or may not have the homo sapiens sapiens freak-out over gender).
But I agree that it shouldn't be necessary to give Groot a gender at all & that it shouldn't matter what gender a fictional tree-like alien is.
Of course, it also shouldn't matter to people what gender you or I identify as either, but it does, sooooo. . .
