Just... why? I don't get how looking like a mentally empty personality-less thing that happens to be human-shaped is supposed to sell clothes. Not that models look or are stupid - I'm talking about the poses/expressions in the photos, which are blank/empty/vague on purpose (to look like mannequins maybe?). It's creepy.
"Intense/fierce" is kind of hilarious but at least it's... SOMETHING.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-16 01:23 am (UTC)(link)In all honesty my best guess is that the models are not supposed to outshine the clothes. If the models display personality, it might take away from what they're trying to sell. I also think you're supposed to be able to "put yourself" in those clothes and it's easier to do that, again, because the models are as vacant as possible without actually not being there.
