John Green really always seemed like a really nice dude. His books are pretty samey and tend to have themes that are incredibly twee. I wish he'd stick to nonfiction.

Yeah, this. He seems like a nice enough person, but I have basically no interest in reading his works. Characters who die in a tragic yet meaningful fashion that helps enlighten all around them, which seems to be the main topic of several of his books, is not anything I want to read.

Two of his books, let's be honest. And those two books? While sharing that theme? Were very different.

Were they? I'm talking in terms if the reading experience, not accusing Green of literally self plagiarizing or something.

Yeah, I mean. They were completely different stories. Just because they share a thematic element doesn't mean the reading experience is identical.

My thoughts exactly. He seems like a sweet guy, I just have no interest in his books.
