Spent $15 on soap, nail polish, and hair color stuff. Some of it was on clearance and I had a coupon for $3.50 off if I spent $10 or more, but I still feel a little guilty spending money on stuff I don't need.

But sometimes buying a few small, fun, frivolous things can be an investment in your well-being. KInd of like in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, when Francie's mother always lets her have a cup of coffee every morning even though she never drinks it--she just loves the smell. And the neighbor lady thinks that's stupid, seeing that the Nolans are so poor they only get to eat meat once a week, but Katie--Francie's mom--doesn't want her to grow up feeling so poor that she has to watch every penny and never have anything nice.

That's hardly a fortune, though - and sometimes small things can make you happy?

Sometimes small things can make a big difference in your mood. Maybe you needed to indulge yourself.
