Mermaids half bestiality or full bestiality?

It'd be full bestiality I think. They are not human just because they look it. Chimpanzees look sort of human, they are still animals.

Shouldn't levels of sentience, and ability to give consent factor into this?

For a second I thought this secret said "Maru" and was trying to remember who that was.

Uh...you know, Haru does make a pretty mermaid (merman? Whatever) but... I think I can do without the dolphin penis. Maybe it's a good thing I haven't been on tumblr much lately.

Uh...enjoy, though? Hell, it isn't like I haven't thought some questionable things were hot. This is fandom, after all.

Oddly enough, this reminds me of an old Animorphs fan fic I heard about which involved a zoologically-correct uh ... tiger penis? Or something other large cat. Basically, the thing was barbed.

Edit: Wikipedia says they are penile spines.

I dunno if you know Free! but in the show each character is associated with an animal, and the main character Haru is associated with a dolphin. Virtually all of the fanart of him as a "merman" is drawn with a dolphin lower half, not a fish lower half as is common with mer(people).

I tried finding pictures of a dolphin's penis, then realized I don't actually want to put much effort into searching for that. Is it like that of an orca?
