the scene wasn't intended to make her look like an asshole. it was meant to be "sassy" or what the hell ever but failed. just like I sometimes ignore comic book issues (or even arcs) that make the characters unintentionally look like complete assholes when it wasn't the intended effect (*cough* Civil War *cough*) I'll occasionally ignore scenes with shitty writing

I'm perfectly okay with people who are fans of a character pretending that certain things that go against their entire usual characterization didn't happen.
