Characters like Captain America wouldn't be as bland if the writing treated them better. I hate that everyone around him just accepts that he's good and nice and that's that, and if there's any distrust of this super good guy, it's cursory at best and used to show that the other character is ~too cynical and jaded~ and it's the fault of the other character... and not that Captain America is legitimately extreme and an outlier on the moral scale in his own right.

Same goes for Superman and everyone else like that.

Yeah, I pretty much agree. Cap used to be my childhood hero and I love him in the comics. I was really disappointed when I realized how bland they made him in the MCU. Same thing goes for Thor - he's actually pretty funny in the comics - and poor, poor Hawkeye.

I still hate Superman though. (But I hate Batman too, so it's okay?)
