Whenever I'm reading the newspaper or comments on the internet and I see a really stupid, awful opinion (like this one http://www.cincinnati.com/story/opinion/readers/2014/09/17/transgender-surgery-is-not-a-medical-necessity/15767343/) I'm never ever surprised when it's a dude writing it.

I honestly don't think you're an asshole. And if you are, so am I - although sometimes women can be horrible when it comes to slut shaming.

how would that make you an asshole? statistically speaking it's much more likely to be a dude.

It's like an anon on F!S revealing their gender. I'm never surprised if it's a lady (unless they said something that would make me believe otherwise) since 90%+ of F!S users are female (from what I've gathered). but I'm not assuming it's a lady - I still act like I don't know, until I do.

(and if you're not interacting with the person then it really doesn't matter at all tbh)

ETA: ok for some reason I thought you'd be talking about something more gender-based, er, based on gender roles and that shit. nah I think lots of women also believe things like that. though I did get a vibe from this guy that he probably does have a lot of traditional gender-based beliefs.

The moment I saw what newspaper that link went to I knew what letter it was going to be. I saw it in the paper the other day and my exact response was pretty much "Oh fuck you." I seriously have to stop reading the opinion page.
