I preferred Crisis Core as well. The only thing I REALLY didn't like about it was the way they characterized Aerith. In the original game she was funny, sassy and a little naughty, but in Crisis Core she was way more pure and innocent (though there were still a couple of moments of sass). I guess you could argue that Zack's disappearance (iirc, she wasn't aware of his death when VII began. Crisis Core kind of implies that she sensed it though) took a toll on her and caused a personality change but...eh....

Crisis Core Aeris is a young girl, after all. People do a lot of growing at that stage of life, no real surprise in that environment and those circumstances she grew into a more streetwise womanhood by original game time.

You know, I like how Aerith bossed Zack around in regards to the building of the flower cart. I think that was very much like Aerith that I knew and loved. But I agree she really should of been fleshed out more (maybe they were so busy fleshing out Sephiroth that they forgot about Aerith?)

NA

Oh god yes. I love FFVII. I adore Crisis Core. Aerith is amazing in FFVII.

In Crisis Core she turns into some henny penny that whines about her fucking wagon in the most annoying fetch quest ever.

Ugh this. I hate Crisis Core for a lot of reasons (Zack being a mentally disabled 8-year-old for one, also, Gensis) but Aeris's characterization really killed me. Seriously, a girl who lives in the slums constantly in fear of capture from the Turks, after a traumatic past and knowing she hears voices... is "afraid of the sky"? I don't think Testuya Nomura really understands the characters at all.
