Maybe it's meant as comedic hyperbole? Like, when I complain that my favorite bar has closed for repairs and I just can't find the will to live, I don't really mean that. I just mean I'm annoyed (and probably healthier for drinking fewer margaritas).

I agree on the comedic hyperbole over the "throw up and drink tea" part, but needing her friends to calm her down after some anon called her pathetic seems pretty dramatic.
