Had a friend who went on a screaming abusive tirade on someone (not me, I have no dog in this fight) about how disliking this style makes you an anti-feminist misogynist neckbeard.

What??? Did they give any sort of "reasoning" for that or was it just "you don't like a think I like there for you are scum"?

Apparently because it's a style popular with female artists on tumblr, so therefore hating it means you hate women. Or something.

The style predates deviantart by about, oh, 40-50 years, so I don't know what the fuck is goingon.

Someone was saying once that apparently disliking certain loud, obnoxious fans (the "squee") was usually misogynistic because it's usually guys who do it to women in fandom.

Because not liking an obnoxious thing that's popular with women automatically means you hate them!
