I think people are being a bit unnecessarily critical here, Nonnie. I don't think it's wrong of you to have hurt feelings. If we could prevent our feelings from being hurt or becoming annoyed or falling in love or anything else to do with our emotions, I imagine we'd all be a lot happier than we are now. I think venting about this situation, especially with it so freshly occurred is certainly no beyond the pale.

I do think other commenters make a good point that she's probably making a wise financial decision even if it doesn't feel necessary to you, and your comments indicate that while you're disappointed, you're not actually being an ass or behaving badly in return.
