Also..just a thought. If the troll/stalker anon comes back...like don't even acknowledged him at all. No to get mad or nothing. This guy seems to thrive on any attention he can get. I think if we all just sorta ignore him and let him have his little circlejerks...he'll eventually go away.

There's disliking and there's not being able to get over it.

Jaybie took the high road originally and realized the conversation wasn't going anywhere. She stopped. The anon persisted. It's all on them.

And honestly, I didn't think Jaybie did anything bad other than expressing an unpopular opinion and mentioning it again. Unless I missed where that was all she'd talk about six days in a row or something.

Normal people are not this obsessive about a writer they dislike. and anyone with half a brain would see that by repeatedly bringing it up they would just drum up interest and attention. You hear someone going on like that about something and you want to see it to understand why.

Yeah, just do not engage. They won't shut up, they will only take it further. Even if you try and troll them right back, which I have done before. (Not here, somewhere else.)

Worst thing you can do is get Case to freeze or delete it, because that is the mother of all reactions. It means they have trolled not just the target, but Case as well. They made a thread freeze or vanish. I suspect Case's policy of deletion only spurred them on to greater lengths.

And yesterday with everyone leaping in to react, I suppose their hearts were in the right place but it was a really bad idea

I mean even if they get 15 "let it go alreadys" that's still 15 replies. and to a troll that just tells them "oh boy! This is how I get people to react."

To make matters worse is even if you ignore them they will keep doing it. Constantly. It's a hobby for these people.

I've been getting Fedora comments since spring. I've ignored them, reported them, argued with them, reasoned with them. They do it anyway and will not stop. Their new favourite tactic is to wait until late at night to do it while Case is asleep and can't immediately delete it.

It doesn't even bother me anymore. I just wonder why the fuck they care.

That is EXACTLY the response I got from Fedora Anon. Then when I asked them to actually tell me what I was supposedly doing wrong they ignored me. The one time they actually followed through, it was completely insane.
