Whew, a lot of... interesting ones today.

2.) This secret sounds sort of half-facetious to me anyway but... eh. As a guy who has been attracted to guys in the past and fooled around, fandom man-on-man = ZzzzzZZzzz. I can fap to regular gay porn if I want, but yaoi bores me to tears. Also girlbashing ftl.

14.) Hm. Fandom sexuality in general seems to be strange; and I don't just mean the typical "fandom lesbian," I know quite a few ACTUAL lesbians in fandom and...

...it's sort of strange. I can't say I've encountered many (if any at all) FTMs in my fairly recent reentry to fandom, though I don't doubt they exist. And while part of me wants to find the last bit of the secret troubling, part of me sort of agrees.

Can we just get one big "lol, sexuality" plz?


16.) Not related to fiction, but I have the worst gaydar in the world. At least for girls. Guys I'm pretty spot-on with.


21.) Hm. Well, the whole thing started from a typo, I believe. Someone on 4chan intended to say that the character Archer from FAte/Stay Night was so manly that they couldn't help but be gay for them... only they misspelled it "gar." "I am gar for Archer." And while some people keep it purely as that "so manly you're gay for them" it's sort of evolved into a general expression referring to stereotypically masculine traits or something. There was a great post on /m/ comparing "GAR" to the Latin concept of "Virtus" but I can't find it.

It's silly and some people still adamantly stand by "Gar = gay for them" but it's sort of turned into a concept of its own. >_>

God I looooove Adrian. She's so wonderful and lovable and yes, gorgeous. It is a pity she is really really gay and fictional and so would never be with me ;_;

In relation to 14: Sexuality and gender identity don't have a lot to do with each other. Sure, they affect what words people use to describe who you fuck, but they're pretty independent of each other. Before I figured out I was trans I liked girls, after I figured out I was trans? ... still liked girls. The only thing that changed was how I was perceived.

Also, nobody would go through hormones and surgery just to be involved in yaoi. Shit like that can kill you. Not to mention the world isn't exactly a friendly place for trans people. Know how many people were murdered last year alone for being trans? That the people organizing Transgender Day of Remembrance knew of?

Nobody transitions for stupid shit like that.
