AMEN and PRAISE ALMIGHTY GOD.

Okay, maybe not to that extent, but I think it's A-OK to hate fictional characters. At least that's not hurting anything. Good way to vent at times. And Rinoa? Yeah, fuck her. It's a real bummer having friends who love the characters you hate at a near-protective levels. I feel I have to consciously censor myself just to keep them unoffended. D: But really, honesty's just the best medicine in the world.

I would agree it's 'A-OK' to hate fictional characters.

I think hating them at a 'near-protective level' is a bit overboard, considering they are fictional.

I think you misunderstood me. The 'near-protective levels' remark was for people who love characters to that point. The other way around is kind of an oxymoron, isn't it?
