HELP

(Anonymous) 2014-09-25 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
I have to finish this stupid goddamn literature review. (Because I'm totally going to be reviewing literature for my day job once I pass this degree, hahahah!)

I'm SO CLOSE to finishing. I've just got to add some reference and write the introduction and conclusion. I've spent three days on it. It's due in five hours.

But it's an incoherent mess. I don't even think it answers the question. Just disconnected paragraphs. FUCK.

How do I fix it?

Something that may help you check the flow of your paper: one-sentence summaries of each paragraph. It's easier to see if the ideas connect to each other that way, and you can easily move sentences around if need be to fix the flow. Then go back and do whatever editing's necessary to change the order of the paragraphs correspondingly.

Also, check whether each sentence-summary connects to the question. If not, look where you can add a line or two in that paragraph to bring it back round to the question and your response to it.

Good luck!

What is it a literature review of? What did you consider to be the general tenor of the material you read? Is there a consensus emerging? A chronology of what was studied when? Two schools of thought whose adherents sling mud at each other?

JUST SUBMIT IT.
Finished is better than perfect.
