Well, we must never forget MsScribe claiming she had to leave work in a presidential campaign because someone told her boss about her writing HP smut. I'm pretty sure I even saw that shit being reported in the news...

How did I miss that part of the saga? I must go re-read it.

I can actually see that as being an issue if the characters were underage. Sure, lots of people under 18 actually DO have sex. But I can just imagine how the opposing side would twist facts to make it look like a pedo is working for their opponent's campaign.

Well, that particular story wouldn't have been in the news because MsScribe made that up.

Seriously I'm almost positive I read about it in the newspaper or possibly a woman's magazine like Cosmo. I think the point to take here is that she managed to fool even the actual press, she was so insane.

Hmmm... have you heard of the Mandela Effect by any chance? http://mandelaeffect.com/

It's not like news magazines always check their stories, you know.

Is that legit?

MsScribe is not actually a real person, by all accounts. Well I mean she is, but she's a person who invented a fake persona and life for herself and made up all sorts of things. So her having to leave work is not real.

Legit that she made that up? Yes. Legit that was in the news...I could swear to you I read about it (just a small mention like, "a female staffer in a presidential campaign was forced to leave her position after her Harry Potter fanfiction came to light") before I even knew who Msscribe was. I wish I could remember where I'd read it though. It was definitely an ink-and-paper publication...
