No, not the sole means, but it is the basic foundation. That the culture that more than any other thrives on rape and continued abuse and degradation of women has a solid foundation in it's media for feminist growth, and we do not... that's fucking awful.

"No, not the sole means, but it is the basic foundation."

No it isn't. It's a one-note joke in a webcomic, not a checkbox to be filled out when scriptwriting, and it shouldn't be "the basic foundation" of anything.

It should be a thing that happens. The literal point of the test is that female characters talk to other female characters about something besides a male character or guys.

That's it.

If NONE of your female characters can pass that, as an absolute baseline, you have a problem in your scriptwriting.

It's not the basic foundation, either. It's a way of assessing a work, not a game-changer.

Also, I'm aware Japan has its own gender issues to deal with, but your use of hyperbole makes me think you might be trolling.

"The culture that more than any other thrives on rape and continued abuse and degradation of women"

Seriously? I mean, I know Japan has its problems, as do we all, but 'the culture that more than any other' thrives on rape and abuse?

Seriously?

Your anti-Japanese sentiments are showing.
