I get to go down to my letting agency and follow up on a series of complaints that were made three months ago. They sent someone out to 'take a look', but that was a month ago and we've heard nothing since.

On top of that, I have a series of NEW complaints to make about the flat - namely, that there are problems with the wiring and as a result, the bathroom light has utterly shat itself. There's the slim chance that it is just lightbulb failure, but considering that one of the other problems we complained about three months ago was to do with the wiring in the walls, and how the light gradually started flickering before just not turning on (we had to slam the door in order to get it to work before that stopped doing the trick), I'm not risking it.

I also get to report my shitty housemate for keeping rotting food in his room because he's two afraid of me and my friend to come and toss it. We've already dealt with a fly infestation because of him, on top of him shitting up the refrigerator - like fuck are we risking losing our deposit because he lets his room rot and damages the flat.

Other than that: writing, sleeping, studying. I want to rewatch The Social Network and Pacific Rim for reference so I can include them in [community profile] hc_bingo.

*googles letting agency* That sounds like a terrible apartment! Why are you rooming with the one guy?

It really is. It's a shame because it would be great if everything worked as it should, but obviously that can't happen. There's also a faucet that doesn't work, and one of the electrical sockets makes weird noises if you plug it in. What fun!

He was a friend of my other housemate, and had been for about two years. A while ago said other housemate stayed with him for a few weeks and said everything went swimmingly, so when he asked us if we wanted to move in together because his former housemates didn't want to live with him for another year (oh, hindsight), we went with it.

We're all in a year-long contract, and as my friend payed up front he's bound to this place. Asshole housemate could move out (and at one point threatened to do so), but in order to do that we'd either have to fork out £3000 (and he literally asked us to, it was disgusting), or find someone else to move in in his place. If someone else were to move in, certain things would need to be disclosed that are a controversial, as well as inconvenient, and we don't want to risk living with someone who could give us hell for it.

It's a 'better the devil you know' situation; he's awful, but our health and safety isn't in danger because of him. Like I said, he's too afraid to even come out of his room because he's so worried we'll ask him to do his dishes or something like that. I hate him, but he's not a threat to me, so for now I'm just biding my time and doing whatever I can to prevent him from causing more problems for me - hence reporting him for the excessive mess and the resultant insect infestation and mentioning that he's doing it again.
