Are you me? I was literally just thinking about making a secret like this.

Regina is an unrepentant sociopath, and knowing that she has so many fans who defend her as being this poor, misunderstood snowflake makes me genuinely concerned for the state of humanity. The ones who deny that she's a rapist as the worst. Half of the OUAT fandom seems to believe that men can't be raped, and that's terrifying.

My husband wishes I would shut up about it instead of complaining every time the show tries to make you feel sorry for Regina.

And every time they try to make her sympathetic, she just looks worse and worse.

Honestly, I blame the actress. In an interview, she admitted to going to the producers and demanding that Regina and Henry continue to have a mother/ son relationship. I think things snowballed into stupidity in an effort to make that work because season one did NOT set that up.

So now we get to see a child abuser share True Love's Kiss with her victim. Which is fucking sick.

I do agree that there are a lot of fans who excuse her horrible actions and claim she never was a villain. However, some of us believe in redemption. And I don't think she is unrepentant. I think that while she said in that one scene she has no remorse, her last scene at the midseason of season 3 shows that she really actually does understand that everything is her fault and regrets it. She isn't there yet, but I believe in redemption and believe she's working on it.

Rumple, on the other hand, I hate, because he pretends to be good but never actually has regretted anything he did. He helps the good guys because they are family and it is good for him. But then he killed Zelena, and it wasn't out of character at all because at the end of the day Rumple is about Rumple. So while I believe in redemption, I don't see him on that path, at least at the moment.
