If this was any other show I would agree with you. But this is Once Upon a Time, where no sin is too bad to be forgiven. Regina could murder half the town and eat their corpses in the first half of a season but by the end of that same season, she would be portrayed as the victim with the writers trying to convince the audience to give her a chance for the umpteenth time.

In other words, Forget it, Jake, it's OUAT.

I actually liked the S3 mid season finale as a character ending for most of them. That's where OUAT mentally ends for me at the minute, although I did watch chunks of S3b out of curiosity. Both Rumple and Regina sacrificing their personal happy endings in order to preserve those they cared about, and doing so with dignity, that would have been a pretty good ending for them. Everything that happened for those two in particular since then has been ...

Let's just say, OUAT is sort of the definition of 'beating a dead horse' since then. About the only plot I've liked in S3b was Snow and Charming's, because the sharing a heart thing and the circumstances that led up to it were heartbreaking and awesome. The other three main romances are really getting on my nerves, and it probably is relevant that all three of them feature OUAT's favourite villains-seeking-redemption.

I actually love Rumple and Regina as characters (Hook could die in a fire, but that's a different story), but I kind of do think that Rumple needed to stay dead and if our last sight of Regina had been the curse taking her after she willingly gave up her son to protect him, I could definitely have lived with that.

I don't think I'll ever truly like Regina, she's done too much shit that inevitably gets forgiven and forgotten (by the show, anyway), but I just...don't think I care anymore. I still haven't finished last season and even with Frozen coming to OUAT, IDK if it's worth catching up.

Regina is an unrepentant sociopath, and knowing that she has so many fans who defend her as being this poor, misunderstood snowflake makes me genuinely concerned for the state of humanity. The ones who deny that she's a rapist as the worst. Half of the OUAT fandom seems to believe that men can't be raped, and that's terrifying.

I know it will never happen, but I keep hoping the writers will kill her off because the writing for her character is destroying the show. Snow White, Henry, and Emma's characters have all been mutilated so they can worship at the altar of St. Woegina, and things seem to be getting worse, not better. Hell, they've got Rumplestiltskin telling her that she's a great mother!

What's next? Marion thanking her for imprisoning her? Kathryn praising her for being such an awesome friend? Leopold and Graham's ghosts appearing to say how honored they were to die at her hand?
