I think that everyone looks for different things when reading. I love the characters who are kinda unredemable because it makes me feel better about myself as a human being. You can go "at least I am not 'that' person'. One of my favorite villains is Kefka from FF3. He poisoned a water supply, that's seriously messed up. There were no inner resolved issues he had, he just did it to fuck shit up. He is a horrible person but he is unrepentant about it and maintains that stance until the bitter end.

Unrelated, but wow, that's the first time in a long time I've seen someone call VI by III. Reminds me of the fandom people who use the word boards to mean levels c:

I usually refer to it by VI however for a moment there I was taken back to when I first played the game, it was called FF3 and Kefka compared the entire party to a 'self help manual'. Ah the good old days.

Ahaha, I know it was called III, although I would have only been five when it was. You would have to be XII or XIII levels of young not to know about the localization, I think.... although that's possible now. Most of the active fans I've seen now would have been ten or eleven when those came out.

Yeah, I'm 35.. I was in college when Xenogears came out and when Sailor Moon first ran in the US, I think I was a sophmore in high school.

Whoops, I pegged you as much older. Sorry! I think I mix commenters up sometimes for age.

That does remind me of a funny comment I saw about FFXV. Someone was complaining about the fact that a car was being used as a transport method. I assumed they were an older gamer that stopped before VIII came out since there are cars all over the place, but now I'm wondering if they were even alive when it released. It's hard to tell these days.

Oh no worries! I'm not offended at all!

Yeah, it is hard to tell. There are so many fans that are much younger (and probably when I started playing FFVII for the first time, they weren't conceived much less born yet).
