I'm the same. I can't read established relationship fics because it doesn't not appeal to me at all. I'm interested in the part before they get together (I'm even a big fan of slow burn and seemingly one-sided crushes), the part where they get together, but the aftermath is just... Meh...
Basically I want to read hot first time kisses and sex, but I don't care at all about the 'I love you's and the 'couple' stuff...

That's perfectly fine. Different strokes for different folks. This attitude is pretty common - I know a lot of people who are like this.

Saying that a character is technically bad because you "hate reading about horrible people" is idiocy, though. Technique=/=tropes, and personal tastes=/=actual literary analysis.

I don't entirely agree, but I will say that as much as I miss my insanely huge and active fandom, there were some... major downsides. A friendship almost fell apart due to disagreements during RPGs, people on my flist would dictate what I said and how I said it, shipwars were so crazy part of me actually wanted my OTP to not happen because I was sick of the bitching from my friends about how _______ shippers were the bane of fandom's existence... so part of me is okay with things being a little more low key.

I sympathise anon. I'm lucky in that most of the time I can use multiple beta readers, but there's just one I really love. Her comments on my stuff are super fun (especially on really stupid mistakes), and she comes up with really creative, helpful solutions, whenever I run into plotting problems. I love her. My other betas get the stuff done as well, eventually, when she's not available. But she's just ... the best. She inspires me.
