I am the exact same way. While I like the excitement of all of the "firsts," I'm a lot more interested in seeing a couple work through actual relationship problems (particularly since a lot of UST is so ridiculous and, if I may be so bold, whiny). Unfortunately, it's rare to come across something that does that well.

You are so spot-on with the whiny. So often with endless ust I just want to scream at the characters to just TALK, just say what you mean and be done. Half the time there isn't even a legitimate reason for all the pining anyway.

I would love to see established canon characters work on relationship problems that didn't involve one of them (usually always female) being incredibly insecure about the other person (usually due to the financial disparity between them). Insecurity can be a thing, just, I've seen it so much lately it is dead horse beating and there are a lot more couple issues than class and money issues. Holiday traditions and standing up to in laws and just, ANYTHING else at this point. Hell, I'll take DECORATING as a couple issue.
