I still like fandom too, but I would be lying if I said there aren't thing I miss about the 'golden days'. It's def easier to find other fans now and quickly see what the fanbase is thinking, but I do feel like it's much harder to hold an actual conversation. With AO3 it can be pretty simple to find fic (which is great!), but I'm not sure if I believe fic is any better now. Lots of bad fic exists, it always has and always will, and while there's some impressive stuff out there too, that isn't new to my fandom experience.

Gifs are good as well, I can't imagine not having gifs, but I'll forever be sad about communities 'going out of style'.
