I am. That is, people know what kind of movies/series/films I'm into - I even do some meta discussions r/l, but I keep my fic and my shipping habits away from my r/l.

Part of it is I do not want fic linked to my real name - also, I actually occasionally write for an lgbt magazine, and the whole slash thing might actually be awkward.

Well, but I'm not just talking about people being secretive in that sense. I mean people who flat-out said "I write fanfic for X", but as soon as you say "so do I" they stop talking.
