Re: I'm worried I might be gay.

I used to think that you seemed pretty cool and confident, but every time anyone says anything to encourage other people to be confortable with their own identity, there you are with some bullshit about how 'lol nobody actually thinks like that, blah blah blah, real world'. It's obvious that you're insecure and taking it out on random strangers, and I'm sorry that the world hasn't treated you as kindly as it could have, but this? Is just pathetic.

Nobody's treated me poorly when it comes to this.

All I'm saying is that labels are useful and "fuck labels" is usually said by people who have one and are comfortable with it.

Labels are comforting. There's a reason people worry about finding them. Defining yourself helps you come to terms with yourself. Finding out that there's a name for what I am beyond "confused and messed up" helped more than you can understand. It's the difference between viewing sexuality as a problem or as a status.

I think going around saying "I reject all labels" is a lot more insecure than saying "I embrace the label that applies to me."

+1. Chard isn't trying to make anyone uncomfortable with their identity.

not that I don't disagree that chard can be an asshole at times

this is not one of those times

she's making a good point. labels are USEFUL for a lot of people.
