I wish there was more...media in general where aliens come to the planet Earth and aren't there for the purposes of conquering/enslaving/eating/any bad thing, and are there to be friendly or invite us to space or something, I just want more stories where First Contact ends up with an alliance or just general friendship between us and the aliens, no animosity.

I mean, there's E.T., but that's not enough.

Oh, Alien Nation. I barely remember it, but I remember liking it.

Was Third Rock From The Son a friendly aliens show? I can't remember that well. Ummmm, Batteries Not Included is good! So is Paul! The Iron Giant. The Day the Earth Stood Still (the original). Galaxy Quest of course.

AYRT

While I liked most of those, I meant more that its REALLY public knowledge that these aliens exist when First Contact happens, not really just one or a handful of aliens visit.

Seriously. If you haven't seen it: Alien Nation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKFED7gE7fQ&list=PLDCF85BCF8EB91A87)

District 9 but we were really mean to the aliens. :C

Roswell. There's the books and tv show, neither of which I've actually read or watched, and it's teen drama fare about teen aliens who kind of crash landed at Roswell and just want to get home.

Doctor Who technically counts, because he's an alien who sometimes takes Earth humans (from the UK) on adventures throughout the universe, and also save it and the Earth... from aliens.

Transformers, kind of, and even those robot aliens from the rude bad guy faction are trying to get home.

Interstella 5555, but it's really just an extended music video, and the aliens aren't on Earth because they wanted to be (but they are loved!).

Futurama! Multi-racial and multi-special populations (and robots!).

And if you go the cape comics route, there's alien good guys (and bad guys) like Superman, J'onn (Justice League), and universe-defending space cops from everywhere in the Green Lantern Corps.

There's Star Trek: First Contact, of course. The Vulcans aren't in it until the very end (it's mostly the Borg) but they're friendly and adorably startled by Rock and Roll.
