This isn't a rec thread (but if ppl want to rec stuff they can, I guess). THis is a "I wish ________ existed." ____________ can be anything. A movie, a tv show, a certain episode of a TV show, a book about whatever, a certain character, a fanfic, a type of fanfic, a video game, a certain kind of video game.

just what are some of your media wishes?

A TV show with LGBT character(s) where that's not their defining characteristic and the plots don't only revolve around their love lives. I know some books exist like that (which I need to read more of) but most shows always revolve around romance (I couldn't stand QaF).

I wish there was more...media in general where aliens come to the planet Earth and aren't there for the purposes of conquering/enslaving/eating/any bad thing, and are there to be friendly or invite us to space or something, I just want more stories where First Contact ends up with an alliance or just general friendship between us and the aliens, no animosity.

I wish there was a sequel series to Cirque Du Freak. I know Shan said he wouldn't write anymore in that series, and that's okay, and I'm satisfied with what we have. But still.....the fanfiction I have found is BEYOND bad.

I'd like to see something like She's the Man or (if you're old school) Just One of the Guys, only instead of pretending to be a guy to prove something, the main character was actually FTM and transferring schools to try to pass/transition.

Of course, it probably never can exist short of being filmed remarkably fast with someone who's actually transitioning or finding a set of male/female twins who look enough alike that it could be believable.

I still want that Episode Zero OVA. I want to see Meiran animated, damn it. Were were supposed to get it during the series run, but things fell through and instead we got those clipshow episodes.

A sports anime where any ship but the main ones/ones focused on more in the show becomes canon in a way that works with their characterization.

So any "side ships" (including main character) become canon is a better way of putting it.

Still want the Jinchuu arc of Rurouni Kenshin animated. Should have given us that instead of those Kyoto arc movies.

I need more good horror novels that creep you out. House of Leaves has been awesome so far but stuff like Stephen King bores me. I want to get the same feeling from horror novels that I get from creepypastas.

More horror story podcasts, too. And horror movies that don't rely on gore (like The Conjuring).

And creepy games that don't rely on jump scares (like LIMBO).

More fanfics where my favorite OTP raises a kid. A fanvid to The Device Has Been Modified for CA:TWS.

I am in a Halloween mood already.

I wish female-gaze porn existed. And not the fluffy, romantic stuff that exists. I want fast, hot porn without all the extra story that just happens to focus on the man's body and have men I actually find attractive in it.

Female-centric hard scific and female-centric high fantasy.

I have a weirdly strong desire for a Superman movie set in the 1940s or 1930s, with art deco Metropolis and villains with 1930s-y sci-fi-looking technology, and awesome Max Fleischer cartoons-esque Lois Lane and old fashioned newspaper reporting.

I don't know why this appeals to me so much -- probably because being a period piece will mean they can make a Superman movie that is bright and cheery the way Superman should be, but without looking corny or goofy if there's a vintage aesthetic.

I want an AU HP fanfic where A) Snape lives and B) is tried (in a real full-on courtroom drama novel) before the entire Wizengamot for war crimes, including the murder of Albus Dumbledore.

If there's a story like that out there anywhere, it's well hidden.

I BOUGHT A PS3 FOR THAT GAME AND IT DOES NOT YET EXIST AND AT THIS POINT PROBABLY NEVER WILL. BUT I WILL NOT ABANDON HOPE.

A pre-war Transformers cartoon would be nice, especially one that had a large cast of differing ladies...

Some more DP fics that really dive into Danielle's psychology and character, especially fics that address how she deals with the trauma she got from her experienced with Vlad and overcomes that. At the moment I can only think of one author whose fics really got into that. and when they did it was really interesting. I want to see her issues explored more and not handwaved.

More stories that are based after Phantom Planet and finds a way to reconcile the peak of season 2 characterization with the stuff that happened. So far Ghosts in The Closet is the sole fic that makes me accept the finale and how it went down. I'm probably hypocritical for asking for this because I usually ignore PP myself.

More gen longficsin my fandoms. I have nothing against shipping but...since I don't care it gets tiring trying to keep up with the longer fics that deal with it.

Sequel to The Nun's Story where she goes back to the Congo, is reunited with Doctor Hot Guy, and becomes a kick-ass infectious diseases rsearcher.

Fics becoming canon. Many fics becoming canon with au's, reboots and such. Like dodjinsi are almost manga. I want such things for TV and books where creators explore some fic scenarios.

What I used to dream and pray there would be which never came to fruition is a Trigun OVA series that follows the manga, just like the Hellsing Ultimate series did. I'm still kind of sad that the economy was so poor at the time, that Madhouse never went through with it and made a movie instead. All those Vash/Meryl moments, backstory, Knives development, more Wolfwood, and Livio!!! Not to mention more awesome acting from my favorite seiyuu. I almost wish I had the funds to single handedly sponsor an ova of the manga so that this could happen.

I know there have been a ton of remakes lately, but the chances of this being made in Japan where it wasn't particularly popular are practically zero to none.


I also want to see either a Harry Potter anime (japanese) and a Phoenix Wright anime.

An action movie/something along those lines where the main character is a lesbian, but its not the main point. Just like, maybe a love interest b-plot? Ex-Wife

Basically I'm a lesbian who hates movies that focus around romance but still wants to watch movies about other lesbians.

Heavily-featured female villains who are sympathetic without compromising their villainy, and also without "humanized" being short for "it's all because a dude rejected her and/or she lost her baby". Just saw the Maleficent movie and Jesus Christ, what a waste. Seems like lady villains are all either far too horrible to stomach or far too lukewarm to be villains. Could do without all of them being oversexed, too, but I can tolerate that more than the rest.

I wish an awesome tv show (or movie) existed with a badass intelligent character who looked like me and got first billing existed. Mostly so I could read and write fic about her [character]being in a relationship with a character played by an attractive actor.
