I need more good horror novels that creep you out. House of Leaves has been awesome so far but stuff like Stephen King bores me. I want to get the same feeling from horror novels that I get from creepypastas.

More horror story podcasts, too. And horror movies that don't rely on gore (like The Conjuring).

And creepy games that don't rely on jump scares (like LIMBO).

More fanfics where my favorite OTP raises a kid. A fanvid to The Device Has Been Modified for CA:TWS.

I am in a Halloween mood already.

I don't know where you stand on comics, but if you're looking for creepy/atmospheric horror and don't mind them, I would recomend checking out Emily Carroll. She makes short stories comics, most of which fall into the horror genre. Some could be seen as a bit gory maybe? but it's almost incidental, most of the horror comes from introspection and mood. She has a book out but some of her stories are also available on her site.

Man, I feel you. I love that gut-punching, too scared to look around you feeling that I've only ever really had from creepypasta before, especially when it lingers. Very rarely have I seen or read anything else that's stuck with me in that exact way; as much as I love horror movies and books, it's not what I'm thinking about when I find myself walking alone at night.

At least part of it comes from how without context creepypasta are; it's harder to separate myself from the events that are happening because the characters lean towards being so anonymous that they could be anyone. For this reason, too, I love short horror films. This is a pretty damn good site for it, if that's your thing.
