Part of the reason it's such a good show/episode is that it's timeless. The themes will never go out of date or be irrelevant.

I agree. It's also just one of those shows that has something for everybody. When it was still airing, my whole family would watch the new episodes together; that's actually one of my fondest memories as a child. The DCAU in general has a lot of good stuff and I kind of wish they would stick to animation and give up on live action because their film verse is...a bit lackluster in comparison (of course, that would never happen because money).

They've given up on animation because the fans turned out to be mostly female and they didn't know how to sell boy's toys to girls. Because the marketing department just isn't bright enough to dump an arbitrary division or how to work with anything other than a pre-approved advertizers list.
