Aw, I actually like my RL friend's OCs.

Also this kind of reads like platonic pickup stuff. "Just pretend to be interested in their stuff, but rather than rewarding you with sex, they'll reward you with conversation and approval." I don't really see anything wrong with the suggestion, it's just funny.

lol I like how you illustrated just why it's creepy and douchey (or at least, part of why), and then said "I don't see anything wrong with it"

I also can say I have a good friend IRL whose OCs I genuinely like, though xD

I was talking about OP's tone rather than the action itself. It seemed more like they meant something on a similar level as, say, asking about a book they see someone carrying when they're not much of a reader themselves. I don't see anything wrong with doing something like that as long as they take the right attitude with it. The problem comes when they're dishonest or resentful, or see it as work->reward rather than just talking to someone.

Hm. I guess you and I got rather different tones from the secret.

My reply was going to be along these lines, so I'll write here.

Why someone wouldn't find their friends stories interesting? It's more interesting than their fandoms that you don't know. -/ And friends talk to each other about their new fandoms all the time.

Also lol about pick up.) The OP's method takes some dedication.
