I never thought Ward killed the dog in the first place. Garrett did it after he couldn't and most likely punished Ward for it and ensured that was the last time he disobeyed an order.

Wish some of fandom would fucking acknowledge John Garrett for the kidnapper and abuser (both physical and emotional) he is instead of ignoring it.

Cannot wait for the redemption arc and for Grant Ward to become a better person, to see who he can be without Garrett's influence in his life.

Aw, sweetie. It's okay to feel protective and have strong opinions about this! :)

You're right, he promoted a feeling of tolerance and so many people could enjoy his character, even people who didn't like gay folks very much, which has to be a huge step in the right direction for everybody. Think of all the people he's helped to laugh and smile and think of gay people as being as real as anyone else.

I love Clayborne (sp?). I loved him even when I was rather homophobic. So don't ever think anyone who says he should've been different is right!!

Also I loved your phrase, "wrong way to gay!"

On the one hand, it seems like kind of a cop-out to have Hans survive after taking off his gas mask. On the other, I think him being reunited with his family is supposed to represent that life still goes on outside the war zone. Joan pretty much had to survive, too, though I guess Freddy could have died.
