I am very picky when it comes to anime. More than 70% of the series out there are overhyped and shitty.

I'm not saying this out of a hate for female anime characters, I'm saying it out of a pining for no more shitty ones. Of course, some people are just otaku and think because it comes out of Japan, it's gold, so really shitty series get popular. I'm not naming names here *coughcoughinuyashacoughcough* but, hey.
