There is no way in which that concept is created solely by the media. Part of it is absolutely something that comes from the bronies themselves. If nothing else, in the sense of them being very, very proud of being adult men who like a show targeted toward young girls.

The concept of guys liking MLP is not created by the media, no. But it was spotlighted by the media. There is no way bronies are "louder" than adult Pokemon fans. I've been in both fandoms, I can say this with confidence.

as someone in neither, I'd say Bronies ARE louder-- they come into conversations that have nothing to do with them wailing about this or that, feeling special because they watch their children's cartoons. I've never seen pokemon fans do that.
